This book keeps you guessing. It takes a little while to figure out exactly what Clarah is, and when you do finally understand, it does come as an unexpected supernatural shock.

The story line starts off hard and gritty. Clarah lives on a Gypsy camp and life isn't easy. After one fatally eventful and terrible night, Clarah runs away from the camp. With money in her pocket following a lottery win, she travels the world. After 14 months she comes back home, but what she comes back to is a world as far away from normal as anything anyone could ever expect.

The story then explores the concept of pre-defined destiny and the "what if" and "if only" debate.

Clarah is unique. She has the ability to re-write her future, but does that make her fate any better?

I wont spoil the ending for you. Just to say its a very unusual book. It is science fiction, but set in the modern day world so strangely believable. Okay, it does help if you have read the other 2 books in the series as some of the characters and places named, have come from the "Lines of Tamar"  and "the unbeknown" , however, it is a story in its own right, so I think you cold just pick it off the shelf and get into it with relative ease. It is very different.
